According to Yonhap News Agency, during his visit to South Korea in September this year, Vietnam's Deputy Defense Minister Hwang Xuan Thang was suspected of sexually harassing a female civil servant of the South Korean Ministry of Defense. The incident was recently exposed, causing public opinion to shake. The South Korean Ministry of Defense has summoned Vietnam military attache to South Korea to lodge a strong protest.

The report pointed out that Huang Chunzhan made "inappropriate physical contact" with a Korean female civil servant and made inappropriate remarks while attending an official dinner on September 11th during the "2025 Seoul Security Dialogue" (SDD). The Korean media did not disclose the specific details of the incident, only saying that the nature of the behavior belongs to the category of "sexual harassment".

An official present told Central Daily: "After the dinner, while the participants were chatting, Huang Chunzhan deliberately approached the female civil servant and made inappropriate actions." It is understood that the two were not dining at the same table at the time of the incident.

The Ministry of Defense of South Korea considered the incident to be serious, and eight days after the incident summoned the officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea to formally protest and urged Vietnam to take measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

However, the Yellow Spring War had left the country the day after the incident (September 12), so the South Korean side was unable to carry out further investigation.

South Korean Defense Ministry officials said: ¡°It is difficult to disclose more details because of respect for the will of the victims,¡± adding that South Korea has taken the necessary diplomatic and administrative measures based on the principles.
