On October 21, local time, the Sudanese Armed Forces stated that Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, suffered a large-scale drone attack that day.

The Sudanese Armed Forces accused the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces of launching the attack, saying the targets included the international airport of Khartoum and a power station in the city. The Sudanese Armed Forces did not disclose the specific losses caused by the attack. According to witnesses, at least 11 drones were deployed by the Rapid Support Forces and there was no response from the Rapid Support Forces to the attack.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sudan and Khartoum International Airport issued a statement on Monday announcing that Khartoum International Airport will resume domestic flights from 22 onwards, the first time since the outbreak of armed conflict in Sudan.

On April 15, 2023, an armed conflict broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Force in the capital Khartoum, and the fighting subsequently spread to other areas.
