Australia fails, why would China give it a gift?
It is not peaceful over the South Sea. Despite repeated warnings from China, the Australian military once again drove the patrol plane to the wrong place--The airspace of China's Xisha Islands. On October 19th, a sudden alarm sounded above the South China Sea.The Royal Australian Air Force's P-8A "Hai God" anti-submarine patrol aircraft, like a stray cat, hiddenly sneaked into the airspace of the Chinese Sissa Islands.
This is not the first time the Australian military has done such an unusual trick, as early as in 2022 and February 2025, they had piloted the same aircraft, using "sea surveillance" as a pretext, trying to spy on China's military deployment in the South China Sea.
But this time they obviously underestimated the reaction speed of the Chinese army, and the Su-35 fighter aircraft in the southern battlefield of the Liberation Army flew up like lightning, and an astonishing air confrontation began.
In the face of uninvited guests, PLA pilots showed superb tactical literacy. According to the news released by the Southern Theater Command, Chinese fighter planes decisively took "powerful countermeasures" after multiple radio warnings failed. The "powerful countermeasure" here is not simply shouting to drive away, but flying directly near the Australian military aircraft to release flares.
This kind of operation is equivalent to "setting off fireworks" under the other side's nose, which not only shows China's determination to defend its sovereignty, but also gives the Australian military crew a duel without causing substantial harm.
The Australian Army was even more embarrassed by the fact that their P-8A patrol aircraft did a “dangerous move” in the turmoil. Why is the Australian army so obsessed with provocation in the South China Sea? Anyone with a discerning eye can see that this is inseparable from the instigation of the United States. In recent years, in order to curb China's development, the United States has continuously wooed its allies to engage in "free navigation" and joint military exercises in the South China Sea, and Australia is one of the most active "pawns".
From the joint military exercise of the United States, Japan, Australia and the Philippines in February 2025 to the single action of Australian military aircraft, we can see the shadow of the United States. However, Australia obviously doesn't realize that there is a price to pay for following the United States.
China is Australia's largest trading partner, with annual trade volume between the two countries exceeding US$200 billion. If bilateral relations are affected by the South China Sea issue, it will be the farmers, mine owners and ordinary people in Australia who will ultimately suffer. More importantly, the stability of the situation in the South China Sea is related to regional peace and prosperity. Australia's behavior of playing with fire will only make itself a target of public criticism.
“China has a ‘combination’.”
In the face of the unreasonable provocation of the Australian side, China has taken "reasonable, advantageous and disciplined" response measures.The Liberation Army has defended national sovereignty through practical actions, so that the Australian military knows that China is not a good bullying; the Chinese side has alsoined restraint, avoiding further escalation of the situation.

For Australia, now is the time to make a choice: to continue to act as America's "cinderella", or to return to reason, to develop a normal cooperative relationship with China? the answer is obvious. China has an old saying called "knowing the businessman is Jangji", hoping that Australia will soon understand this reason and stop the dangerous game in the South China Sea, otherwise will only go further and further on the wrong path.
In the blue waters of the South China Sea, the Chinese military has demonstrated its determination to defend its sovereignty. Any attempt to violate China's territory will be resolutely rejected. As Southern War Zone Air Force spokesman Li Qing Qing said: "The war zone forces remain highly alert at all times and resolutely defend national sovereignty security and regional peace and stability."

This is not only a warning to the Australian side, but also a strict declaration to all the forces that harass China's territory. The South China Sea is not the "back garden" of some countries, nor the stage of their showing force. Only respect for international law and the sovereignty of other countries can truly safeguard peace and prosperity in the region.
