Trump proposes Russia to "fire on the current front," Khamenei said.

[World Wide Web Report] According to reports by Tass and other media on the 20th, Russian Presidential Press Secretary and Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov made a statement on US President Trump's remarks that Russia and Ukraine should "cease fire on the current front."

Peskov told reporters that in the course of Russian-American contacts, this issue has been mentioned more than once, and the Russian side has responded each time, "this response is well known, the Russian position has always been the same and has not changed."

The US "Newsweek" stated that Peskov's statement showed that the Kremlin's operational goals in Ukraine remained unchanged. The New York Post mentioned that Russia has asked the Ukrainian army to abandon the Donbas region more than once in order to reach a ceasefire agreement.

According to the Washington Post, citing informed sources on the 18th of this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin “suggested” on the 16th, in his ordinary speech, that as a condition for ending the conflict, the Russian side was willing to give up part of Russia’s controlled territory of Zaporizhia and Herzegovina in exchange for Russia’s full control of the Donetsk region.

According to reports from Colombia and other media on the 20th, Trump said that he proposed that Russia and Ukraine "cease fire on the current front." Regarding how to deal with the Donbas area, Trump said,"Just maintain the status quo. That land is currently divided, and I think 78% of it is controlled by Russia. Let it remain as it is. They can negotiate later, but my opinion is that the current front line should be used to delineate a ceasefire, return home, and stop fighting."
