On the afternoon of October 20, local time, a large-scale power outage occurred in Santiago, the capital of Chile, affecting hundreds of thousands of residents.
According to local media reports, the power outage affected at least 10 administrative districts in the Capital Region, including Providencia, Santiago Central, Maipu, Quinta Normar, Central Station, La Florida and Puente Alto and other places, the operation of some lines of the San Diego Metro was also blocked.
At present, the relevant departments have launched an investigation. Preliminary judgment suggests that power outages may be related to power transmission system failure.
