Israel says it has fired on nearby Palestinian militants in Gaza City

The Israel Defense Forces said on the 20th local time that earlier in the day, while the Israeli army was carrying out a mission in the Shujaya area in eastern Gaza City, it found several Palestinian militants crossing the "Yellow Line" and approaching Israeli soldiers. The Israeli army immediately opened fire on the crossing.

Shortly thereafter, the Israeli army again found several armed personnel crossing the "yellow line" and approaching local Israeli soldiers, once again posing a direct threat to them.

The Israeli army said that Israeli troops led by the Southern Command are being deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to take actions "to eliminate any immediate threat."

On the 19th local time, fighting resumed in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army launched air strikes and shelling on the Rafah area in southern Gaza on the grounds that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) violated the ceasefire agreement, and later announced that it had resumed the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement after "launching retaliatory attacks." Hamas denied the Israeli accusation. The Gaza Strip's civil defense department said that the attack had killed at least 45 people. (Headquarters reporter Wei Ran)
