What Zelensky feared most happened! Trump said: Ukraine must cede territory to Russia!

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that after this protracted conflict, Ukraine will surely cede some of its "assets" to Russia.

Trump made the statement in an interview with Fox News broadcaster Maria Bartolomé on Sunday. When asked whether it was possible to end the hostility between Moscow and Kiev "without seizing a lot of property from Ukraine," Trump hinted that Kiev would inevitably make some concessions.

"Well,(Russian President Vladimir Putin) will take something away. I mean, they fought in war, he had a lot of money. I mean, he won some money,"Trump said.

Although Kiev has repeatedly ruled out making any territorial concessions, Moscow has listed the withdrawal of Ukraine troops from new Russian regions as one of the key issues to be resolved to achieve a lasting peace.

Trump also hinted that he is still considering providing Ukraine with U.S. -made long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles. Potential missile delivery issues became a key issue this week when Trump met with Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky. However, the U.S. president did not commit to providing any weapons and said providing such weapons to Kiev would not be "easy."

Trump reiterated his position that Washington had supplied Kiev with large amounts of weapons during the conflict and could not hand over its entire arsenal to support the Ukrainian army.

“You know, we can’t give all weapons to Ukraine. We can’t.I’m good at President Zelensky and Ukraine, but we can’t, you know, if we have a shortage of weapons, I don’t want to do that.I can’t endanger the United States,” he stressed.

Trump had a phone call with Putin ahead of his meeting with Zelensky on Friday. According to Kremlin assistant Yuri Ushakov, the Russian leader told Trump that providing Ukraine with long-range missiles would not change the course of the conflict, but would instead undermine relations between Moscow and Washington.

According to Ushakov, Putin said the move would also “seriously undermine the prospect of a peaceful settlement.”
