Xinhua News Agency, Seoul, October 20 (Reporter Huang Xinxin, Lu Rui) According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean police reported on the 20th that they had applied for arrest warrants for 59 suspects suspected of participating in online fraud who were recently repatriated from Cambodia. The South Korean Police Department said that of the 64 cyber fraud suspects returned from Cambodia, the police applied for an arrest warrant for 59 people, four others were released and one has been arrested. Among the 59 people who applied for arrest warrants by the police, the South Korean prosecutor decided not to arrest one of them and released him. South Korean police were notified by the Cambodian government in July and September of this year that it had investigated the local cyber fraud call center and provided a list of South Korean suspects. On October 18, 64 South Korean suspects detained in Cambodia on suspicion of cyber fraud were sent back to the country and underwent a police investigation. South Korean police said they would work hard to trace the clues of their overseas accomplices and domestic affiliates to develop effective cyber fraud prevention and countermeasures.
