More than half of South Korea's government system has been repaired nearly a month after the fire

The South Korean government said on the 20th that the government system, which was paralyzed by the fire at the National Information Resources Administration at the end of last month, has been more than half repaired, and online administrative services have entered a "gradual recovery stage."

According to the South Korean Central Disaster Safety Response Headquarters, 373 of the 709 affected government systems had been restarted as of 9 a.m. on the 20th, 77.5 percent of which were listed as “level one” due to the number of users and major reasons.

At the meeting of the Central Disaster Safety Response Headquarters, South Korea’s Executive Security Minister Yin He said: “As the recovery rate of the government’s administrative data system exceeds 50%, the relevant processes are gradually entering the recovery phase.”

The newly repaired systems include the health system that manages organ transplant surgical arrangements and blood supply, and the emergency rescue and disaster response system of the Korean Fire Department. On the 21st, the online reservation system for cremation services will be restored.

South Korea's National Information Resource Administration, which belongs to the Ministry of Administrative Security, is located about 140 kilometers south of Seoul, in the city of Okada, which is considered to be the hub of South Korea's national computer network.
