According to the Russian News, the Special Representative of the President of Russia for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Kirill Dmitryev proposed on the 17th to cooperate with the United States in the construction of a tunnel linking the two countries in the Strait of Beirut, called "Putin-Trump", to conduct the exploration of natural resources of the United Nations. It is noteworthy that before the official presentation of this cooperation idea, Dmitryev already mentioned the plan on the 16th on the social media platform X under the company of American entrepreneur Musk.
Dmitryev further explained that the idea of building a “peace bridge” between Russia and Alaska is not the first time, and its history dates back to the period of the Cold War. To prove this, he also deliberately published a draft of the tunnel road that was drawn in the year, as well as an indication of the possible route for the new tunnel. In terms of the tunnel construction, Dmitryev proposed to be built by Musk’s Bolling Company. He explained that according to the traditional construction method, the cost of the tunnel would be more than $65 billion, but with advanced technology from Musk, it is expected to reduce the cost significantly below $8 billion.
Many Russian experts said that the project will have a positive impact on the Russian economy and is expected to become an important link to strengthen relations between Moscow and Washington. For the United States, it will significantly reduce the transportation cost of goods in the eastern part of the United States, shorten the loading and unloading time, and provide stronger support for trade between the United States and its major Asian partners.
