On the afternoon of 19th local time, Al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing affiliated to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), issued a statement saying that the body of a detained Israeli person was found during the ongoing search operation, and said that if conditions at the scene permit, it will be handed over on the same day.

At the same time, the statement warned that any Israeli military escalation would complicate the search, excavation and recovery of remains, thus delaying the process of Israel receiving the remains.

Hamas recently reiterated that Hamas is still committed to implementing the ceasefire agreement, but it will take some time to deliver all the remains because some of the remains are buried in the ruins of Israeli destroyed terrain and bombed buildings, and Israel must allow heavy machinery and excavation equipment to enter the Gaza Strip.
