Looting at the Louvre Museum in France

On October 19, a robbery in the Louvre Museum in the French capital Paris occurred in the morning, and the museum announced the temporary closure for a day.

French Minister of Culture Racida Dati wrote on social media that day: "A robbery occurred when the Louvre opened this morning. No one was injured." Dati said she was working with museum staff and police to handle the incident on the spot, and relevant investigations were underway.

The Louvre announced via social media on the 19th that for special reasons, the museum "will be closed today."

According to sources quoted by the French newspaper The Parisien, several disguised people broke windows from the building outside the museum and fled after stealing nine jewelry from the Napoleonic period.

The Louvre Museum is a landmark building in Paris and welcomes millions of visitors each year.
