A fire at Dacca International Airport on Tuesday.
Bangladesh's capital, Dakhasrat Shahrallah International Airport, suspended flights on the 18th due to a freight station fire, after the fire was controlled that night, the airport's operations were restored to normal.
Bangladesh's Ministry of National Aviation and Tourism issued a statement on the evening of 18th that the fire occurred at about 14 a.m. local time and was controlled about seven hours later.
Farouk Alam, secretary general of Dhaka Customs Agents Association, said that hundreds of tons of goods were stored in the cargo station where the fire caught out, including imported clothing raw materials and electronic equipment. At present, it is impossible to make a comprehensive assessment, but the estimated losses are serious.
The Information Office of the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh issued a statement on the 18th, saying that the security department is conducting a thorough investigation into the causes of several major fires in many places across the country recently.
