U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted on social media on October 18 that the U.S. military hit a ¡°drug submarine¡± in the Caribbean waters yesterday, killing two of the four people on the submarine, two survivors were sent back to their country of origin, Ecuador and Colombia to be tried.

Trump said in a tweet that the ¡°drug submarine¡± was traveling along a drug trafficking route to the United States, and the U.S. intelligence agency confirmed that the submarine was mainly carrying illegal narcotics.

Trump confirmed that two of the four people on the submarine were killed by the U.S. military and the other two were deported to their country of origin, Ecuador and Colombia, respectively, to be tried, with no U.S. soldiers killed in the operation.

Trump's post also included a video of about 30 seconds. The video shows that the US military attacked a submarine floating on the sea. The submarine exploded and emitted smoke and then sank into the water.

This is the first time that survivors have appeared since the United States announced in September this year that it had cracked down on the so-called "drug ships" in the Caribbean waters. Trump confirmed the incident for the first time on the 17th, but did not confirm whether anyone survived the incident, nor did he provide any evidence on the so-called "drug submarine". Earlier media reports said that the US military's operation took place on the 16th.

Recently, the United States deployed several warships in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela on the grounds of combating drug trafficking. The Trump administration has previously claimed to have sunk five so-called "drug ships" and killed 27 "drug dealers" on the high seas near Venezuela. According to recent reports of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Venezuela is not the main source of drugs flowing into the United States.
