The President of Colombia condemned the US military's actions as a "violation of sovereignty" and was awaiting an explanation from the US.

According to AFP, Colombian President Petro said on the 18th through the social platform X, condemning the U.S. government in the Caribbean "anti-drug operation" violated the sovereignty of the country's territorial sea, and caused the death of an innocent fisherman.

“U.S. government officials have committed murder crimes in our territorial waters and violated our sovereignty. Fisherman Alexander Carranza has no connection with the drug trafficking group, his daily activities are only for fishing.”

Agence France-Presse said that according to family video testimony forwarded by Petro, Carranza died in a US military attack while fishing in the Caribbean in September this year.

Petro said he was waiting for the US to explain this.
