Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu (data map)

On October 18, local time, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office stated that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had instructed,Rafah port will temporarily not be open until further notice.

The opening of the port will be considered in line with the fulfillment by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) of its obligations to return the remains of detainees and the implementation of the framework agreed by the two sides.

Earlier in the day, the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt announced that after communicating with relevant Egyptian authorities, Rafah Border Crossing will reopen on the 20th to allow citizens living in Egypt and wishing to return to the Gaza Strip to travel in accordance with the established coordination mechanism.

According to the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Israel originally should reopen the Rafah port in the south of the Gaza Strip on the 15th, but on the 14th the Israeli side said that, given that Hamas failed to deliver the bodies of all the detainees in time, Israel decided to suspend the reopening of the Rafah port.

Rafah Border Crossing is located in the south of the Gaza Strip, bordering Egypt, and is the main channel for international humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip. (Headquarters reporter Li Xiang)
