Afghan government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement on the same day saying that a high-level delegation led by Afghan Defense Minister Yakubu had set off for Doha.
At present, no party has clearly stated how long the talks will last.
Recently, small-scale armed conflicts have continued in the border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
