According to a statement issued by the SSPP, after 11 p.m. on October 16, fierce fighting erupted at the entrance to the town of Xibb and near the village of Pabe, some government department offices in the town of Xibb burned, and shootings could still be heard until afternoon, and the specific losses caused by the fire are unclear.
The Ministry of News and Propaganda of Myanmar said that while military forces were deploying to regain the surrounding areas so difficult to regain the Yibut, on the afternoon of October 16, when they arrived at the entrance of the Yibut town, they found that there was a heavy smoke in the city, so they entered the city for cleaning.

The statement also pointed out that military forces had recaptured the town of Kyaukme controlled by the De 'ang National Liberation Army on October 1, and the town of Naochiu on July 16.
