Attica Shepherd Association Secretary General Codoiani:Every fifteen days, we receive epidemic updates from the Greek Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, which will inform us which areas are in "strictly controlled areas". Once notified, we must act immediately to continuously and thoroughly disinfect vehicles transporting animals and feed, freezers storing dairy products and vehicles for our own use.

In addition to a large number of sheep being culled, the upstream and downstream of the whole animal husbandry industry have been affected. The Greek Animal Husbandry Association estimates that the loss caused by the epidemic to Greece is as high as 350 million euros.

Attica Shepherd Association Secretary General Codoiani:When livestock is affected by the measles epidemic, other related industries will also be affected, even the entire national economy. Because in addition to us, feed suppliers, farmers and other industries, even companies that produce yogurt cups, will be affected.

Press Secretary Yuan:Recently, the Greek government has introduced a number of measures to address the spread of the herpes epidemic, including extending the operating time of the disinfecting stations, using drones to monitor the movement of sheep flocks, etc. Whether these measures can effectively curb the epidemic is currently unknown.
