Trump says US military attacked a "drug-carrying submarine" in Caribbean waters

Xinhua News Agency, Washington, October 17-US President Trump confirmed on the 17th that the US military recently attacked a "drug submarine" in the Caribbean waters.

Trump told reporters that day in the White House, “We attacked a submarine, which was specifically used to transport a large amount of drugs,” but Trump did not provide any evidence of the so-called “submarine shipment” and did not confirm whether anyone survived the attack, but only emphasized the “no-innocence” of the US military attack.

Earlier, media that the U.S. military attack occurred on the 16th, killing two people and rescuing two others, and is currently under U.S. military control. This is the first survivor of the attack after the U.S. claimed in the Caribbean waters to combat the so-called "drug ship" in September this year.

Recently, the United States deployed several warships in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela on the grounds of combating drug trafficking. The Trump administration has previously claimed to have sunk five so-called "drug ships" and killed 27 "drug dealers" on the high seas near Venezuela. According to recent reports from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Venezuela is not the main source of drugs flowing into the United States.

Venezuela has repeatedly accused the United States of intending to engage in regime change in Venezuela through military threats and military expansion in Latin America. Historically, the CIA has planned, launched or participated in coups in Latin America many times.
