U.S. President Donald Trump after talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky in the White House on October 17, called on Russia and Ukraine to "on-site" ceasefire.

Trump posted on social media that he "strongly suggested" that Russia and Ukraine reach an agreement and "should stop on the spot" and "each claim victory."

After talks with Zelensky, Trump left the White House for the weekend at Mar-a-Lago Estate in Florida. After arriving in Florida, he was interviewed by the media and urged Russia and Ukraine to "immediately cease fighting" according to the existing front line,"otherwise it will be too complicated."

Trump, in response to media questions before the closed-door talks with Zelensky at the White House, ruled out the possibility of a recent tripartite meeting between U.S.-Russian and Ukrainian leaders, and reduced the departure on the possibility that the U.S. could supply Ukraine with a "Tax" cruise missile, saying it would "escalate" the situation.

When Zelensky left the White House, when asked whether he was more optimistic about Ukraine¡¯s acquisition of ¡°Tax¡± missiles, he replied: ¡°I¡¯m realistic.¡± Zelensky said that he and Trump discussed the supply of long-range weapons to the U.S. and that Ukraine needs to make more efforts to do so.

Trump held a more than two-hour conversation with Russian President Putin on Saturday, discussing issues such as ending the conflict in Russia and Ukraine and the subsequent Russian-US trade, and then announced that the two will meet face-to-face in Budapest, Hungary.

Trump and Putin met in Alaska in August this year, but no agreement was reached.Russian-Ukrainian ceasefire talks have so far fallen into a standstill.
