Global supply chain security and stability need to be jointlyined

Sino-US economic and trade interaction has attracted the attention of the international community. The United States frequently threatens to impose high tariffs in an attempt to blackmail China, which has been repeatedly proved not to be the correct way to deal with relations with China. China's continuous improvement of its export control system in accordance with domestic laws and regulations is a legitimate measure within a country's sovereignty. The United States should return to rationality and pragmatism, work with China halfway, and jointly safeguard the security and stability of the global production and supply chain.

Since the talks in Madrid, the United States has continued to introduce a number of economic and trade restrictions on China, including: the inclusion of several Chinese entities in the list of export control entities and the specially designated national list; arbitrary expansion of the scope of control by means of penetration rules, affecting thousands of Chinese companies; ignoring the concerns and goodwill of the Chinese side, resolutely implementing 301 measures against China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding industries, etc. This series of practices by the United States seriously harms Chinese interests, seriously damages the atmosphere of economic and trade talks between the two sides, impacts on international trade rules, disrupts the stability of the global supply chain, and has a negative impact on economic and trade relations between the two sides.

The United States uses China's export control measures for rare earths and other related items, which is a typical double standard. As a responsible major country, China has always insisted on coordinating the maintenance of national security and international common security. The current international situation is turbulent and unstable, and military conflicts occur from time to time. Taking into account the important applications of medium and heavy rare earths related items in fields such as weapons of mass destruction, China implements export controls on related items with the aim of better safeguarding world peace and regional stability and fulfilling international obligations such as non-proliferation. It should be emphasized that China's export controls do not prohibit exports, and compliance applications will still be approved in accordance with the law. China is willing to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with other countries to better maintain the security and stability of the global production and supply chain. In contrast, the United States has long generalized national security, abused export controls, imposed discriminatory restrictions on China, and implemented unilateral long-arm jurisdiction measures on many products such as semiconductor equipment and chips. Currently, China has only more than 900 items on its export control list, while the United States has more than 3000 items. Faced with China's improvement of its export control system in accordance with the law, the United States has arbitrarily threatened with high tariffs and export controls, triggering global market turmoil and casting a shadow on the world economy.

In the face of unreasonable threats to repress, China¡¯s position is clear and firm: fight, accompany the end; talk, the door is open. Threatening, intimidating, and even trying to pressure China, is by no means the right way to deal with the Chinese side. For any move that violates China¡¯s interests, China has sufficient means and tools to counteract. China¡¯s response is not only to defend its legitimate rights and interests, but also to defend international fairness and justice. China always adheres to the principle of equality and reciprocity, starting from the common interests of the international community, committed to negotiating with the United States in an equal dialogue to increase mutual trust, reduce misunderstandings and strengthen cooperation, and play the role of major countries inining global supply chain security and stability

After taking the initiative to provoke a series of chaos, the United States now expresses the hope that both sides will find a way to return to stability. If the US is really sincere, the answer is actually obvious. In the past four rounds of consultations, China and the United States have reached a number of important consensus, effectively stabilizing bilateral economic and trade relations and bringing positive expectations to the global market. This fully proves that as long as we adhere to mutual respect and equal consultation, China and the United States can fully control differences and find solutions to problems, but the premise is that the United States must keep its words and deeds, keep its promises, and cannot constantly introduce new restrictive measures and threats while claiming to talk. If the United States insists on going its own way, China will resolutely take corresponding measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests. The "Vibrant Asia-Pacific-Opinion Poll Report of 16 Countries in the Asia-Pacific Region" recently released by People's Daily shows that more than half of American respondents believe that the United States is moving towards "more closed protection", much higher than other countries; About half of the respondents regard the protectionist policy of the United States as the main obstacle, and nearly 80% of the respondents look forward to lowering tariffs and promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. I hope the US side will not go against the current and go against the will of the people.
