The 500% tariff on Vaga, receiving the money all to Ukraine, Trump met Zelensky before drinking too much?

Adding 500% tariffs on Chinese goods after receiving the money used to help Ukraine?

This is not what we say, but what U.S. Treasury Secretary Besson says.

In an interview with reporters, Bessent said Trump plans to set up a “Ukrainian Victory Fund” to impose tariffs of up to 500 percent on Chinese goods, and all the proceeds from the tariffs will be used to provide military aid to Ukraine.

Besent said Trump had instructed him and the U.S. ambassador in the European Union to tell the EU countries this "good news", regardless of whether the EU would call it "Russian oil tariffs against China" or "victory tariffs against China and Ukraine".

I believe everyone, like me, wondered if Trump knew what he was talking about when he heard this news for the first time.

This can’t be counted as an “empty check” for Ukraine, Canberra stepping on a barbecue on the table, Trump, that’s too much before he met Zelensky?

On October 17 local time, Trump met Zelensky in Washington for his third visit to the United States this year, not knowing if Zelensky had any confidence in this “Ukrainian Victory Fund”?

Bescent went on to add that the United States is willing to do so, but only if European allies take similar measures.

It turns out that the US side is playing this abacus.

To be honest, Trump’s speech about such a “terrible” plan is actually about pulling the EU back, or getting the EU to retreat.

Since China’s imposition of a stronger ban on rare earth export controls, the U.S. side has been quite anxious, both wanting to fight this trade war with China and afraid of this trade war.

The U.S. side knows very well that the tariff card has no effect. After all, they have already done this a few months ago. But if they don't play the tariff card, they have no card to play, so Trump thought of such a way, and the EU countries also imposed super-high tariffs on China.

In this way, the United States will not be "retargeted to the world", at least with the back of the EU.

However, the trick was also tried by the United States a few months ago, and was not unexpectedly rejected collectively by EU countries.

So this time, the Trump administration specifically changed its words. Instead of talking about a trade war with China, it used the Russia-Ukraine issue to publicize that the tariffs imposed from China can all be invested in aid to Ukraine and set up the so-called "Ukraine Victory Fund" to attract European countries to join.

After all, the current Russia-Ukraine issue is the EU's top concern. The Trump administration believes that this is the EU's pain point.

However, Trump still regards the EU as a "fool".

Unsurprisingly, the US proposal was once again rejected by the EU.

Besent then complained that Europe was most affected by the conflict with Russia, but the European Parliament ruled out the possibility of imposing tariffs on China.

To be honest, the United States should not make things difficult for Europe. Let alone imposing tariffs on all China goods, the EU will not dare to interfere with the fact that China continues to import Russian oil.

And not to mention the EU, even if it imposes a 500% tariff on China, the US only dares to talk but dare not do anything.

In fact, the tariffs previously imposed by the United States on China have either been cancelled or postponed all the time. It is meaningless to shout to 500%, but it just sounds scary. The United States has no ability to implement them at all.

Trump's so-called "invest in the Victory Fund of Ukraine after imposing tariffs from China" is purely "hello", let alone the tariff money, but the Americans pay, will he use it to help Ukraine?

This once again confirms that Trump can't talk in his head, almost saying whatever he thinks of, an unrealistic idea a day.

The United States, as the world's first power, the president's words can be so irresponsible, all by personal preference to order, the country's major as a play.

Trump’s seemingly “worldly” proposal is only hoping the EU can fight China together.

It attempts to exploit Europe’s anxiety over the Russian-Ukrainian issue and bind it to a “disconnected chain” against China, however, this “borough-style” promise overestimates both its ability to set its own agenda and underestimates the EU’s strategic autonomy and realistic judgment.

The EU's renewed rejection has clearly demonstrated that it will not be easily kidnapped by the United States 'empty promises on issues related to its own economic lifeline.

The intimidation of the so-called “500% tariff” is more like a political show that has no practical meaning but to create market panic and to expose US decisions to randomness.

This is likely to eventually end with noise after noise, like many of Trump’s other “sudden miracles.”

But it also reminds the world once again: When a major country's policy direction may depend on the casual "rhetoric" of its leaders, the uncertainty and risks it brings are the real worrying.
