Early in the morning of October 16, a loud noise suddenly broke the peace of the streets in Kabul.
When I looked up, I saw a gray-black mushroom cloud rising from the east sky, and the smoke and dust wrapped in gravel hit the awning of the booth like raindrops.
Not far away, Sophia, holding the child to buy milk, shouted to the corner of the wall, and the baby in his arms was terrified and wept.
It was the fourth explosion in two hours.
More unusual was the reaction of the Taliban, who had even border bullets, and their spokespeople were the first time to shoot the camera.
But this time, when the explosion hit the capital right under the nose, the Taliban soldiers patrolling the streets only dared to hide behind armored vehicles and look around without even issuing a "condemnation statement."
Who dares to be so arrogant on the Taliban's "territory"?
To understand this, we must first say that Ba’a means “love and hate” for “neighbors.”
During the 1980s, Pakistan was the Taliban's "Bell" for training bases and international aid, which would be better for both sides to wear a pants.
However, since the Taliban came to power in 2021, relations have deteriorated sharply, and the core contradiction has been stuck on the 2640-kilometer "Durand Line".
Pakistan says it is an internationally recognised border, but the Taliban denies it, saying it is a “hegemon clause” left by British colonies, and from time to time sends troops across the border to “declarate sovereignty”.
Early on the morning of 14 October, the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets of the Pakistani Air Force took the lead, followed by the F-16 and Winged Dragon 2 drones.
These guys are like walking through the gardens of their home over Afghanistan, and no one can stop them.
The Taliban in the hands of the best air defense weapons, or from the former government army captured "toxic" missiles, but this thing is only a few kilometers, can only hit low-air helicopters, in the face of the aircraft launched in the middle height, and "toys gun to the eagle" has no difference.
The target of the Pakistani army was also very accurate: not to blow up civilian facilities, but to select the Taliban's ammunition warehouses, command and training camps.
In Spin Boldak, Kandahar province, which is the core defensive belt of the Taliban's border, air strikes overturned eight outposts on the spot, leaving 15 to 20 militants with no place to hide.
Some people may ask: Didn't the Taliban seize a lot of weapons from the US military?
You may not believe that these "flying fur legs" are antiques from the 1970s, the maximum range is only 300 kilometers, not even Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and the mistake can be 300 meters.
This is not a target, it is simply a random "lottery". As for the seized Humvee, without the US military's logistical supplies, there was no place to replace the broken parts, and many of them became "decorations" on the streets.
Until the afternoon of October 16, the Taliban finally let go and agreed to sign a 48-hour temporary ceasefire agreement with Pakistan.
Clearly everyone can see, this is not "soft clothes", it is really unbearable, the Pakistani army has the defense industry supported, weapons exploded and can replenish.
The Taliban, if they strike one less, then another more, and Kabul may be a mess. But again, a 48-hour ceasefire would not be the Taliban’s “paralympics”?
This conflict, as a lesson for the Taliban, has always felt that Pakistan is "good to harass", the border mess can be cheap, but this time the Pakistani army is crushed in the air.
Let them fully understand that neighbors are sometimes "difficult to mess with". As for whether the two sides will fight again in the future, whether Pakistan can completely eliminate the TTP, and whether the Taliban will find other ways to retaliate, these will all continue to be seen.
But one thing is certain: after this role, the Taliban would want to look at Pakistan, afraid of having to measure their own strength first.
