Half a month in advance, the Netherlands forced to freeze the 100 billion assets of Chinese enterprises and send foreign executives to take over Chinese enterprises.

Recently, the Dutch government suddenly announced that it would "interfere" with the Chinese company Wingtech's chip manufacturer Nexperia.

The Netherlands forced to freeze the billion-dollar output

Currently , The Dutch government froze the assets of Anshi Semiconductor worth 14.7 billion yuan and forcibly removed the position of Chinese founder Zhang Xuezheng. And 99 percent of the shares are handed over to third parties.

For this action, the Dutch side explained that it was to ensure "national security" and "prevent key technologies from being transferred". But the problem is that Nexperia is not a "venture company" at all. After it was acquired by Wingtech Technology, it has been operating legally and paying taxes in accordance with the law for many years, creating tens of thousands of jobs for the Netherlands.

Now the Dutch phrase "national security" will kick out Chinese holding shareholders, but also control the company. To put it bluntly, this is a robbery under the banner of security.

Moreover, the Netherlands began to take relevant actions as early as the end of September, and there was the shadow of the United States behind it. As early as December last year, the U.S. Department of Commerce put Wingtech Technology on the sanctions list and imposed many restrictions on its purchase of U.S. chips and equipment. Just the day before the Dutch action, that is, on September 29th, the United States issued new regulations: Equal controls shall be applied to subsidiaries that are listed in the entity list and account for more than half of the shareholding.

As soon as the United States came out with new regulations, the Netherlands followed suit, and the time was accurate to one day. Obviously, This Dutch action is another "shadow operation" behind the United States.

[The Dutch action is the result of the United States 'malicious push behind the scenes]

So in the face of direct and open robbery by the Netherlands, does China have any countermeasures? Of course there is.

Just a few days before the Netherlands officially issued the intervention order, that is, on the 9th of this month, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China jointly issued Orders 61 and 62, further tightening control over rare earths and related technologies. It clearly states: Rare earth technologies and products involving chips, chip production equipment, chip testing equipment and other related uses require strict approval before being exported.

This means that rare earths, the most upstream resource in China's chip industry chain, have been included in the scope of national security management.

To know, the semiconductor industry is a symbiotic, in which the rare earth is the "blood" of the chip. without China's rare earth, the global semiconductor industry chain will be "anemia". such as ASML's optical engraving machine to use rare earth permanent magnets, laser systems, rare earth polishing materials; Anselm semiconductor power device, also relies on China's rare earth oxides as key raw materials.

Now the Netherlands forcibly cuts off cooperation with China, which is equivalent to cutting off the arteries of the supply chain.。Rare earths are not something you can buy if you want. Not to mention that Western countries cannot refine it themselves, even alternative sources are very limited. Both Australia and the United States have mines, but their purification capabilities are far inferior to those of China, and the cost is surprisingly high.

[China's tightening of rare earth control will greatly impact the Netherlands]

In other words, China's "rare-earth counter-order" will not only make it difficult for the Netherlands to realize the "results" of Chinese enterprises, but will also put the entire European chip industry into a chain reaction of "material shortage, rising costs, limited capacity".

This precise counterattack by China can be said to be stable and fierce, and once the Chinese side moves, the consequences are absolutely unbearable for the Netherlands.

At present, the Netherlands seems to have taken the lead in this "grabbing war", confiscating tens of billions of assets of Nexperia and temporarily controlling technology and factories 。 But in the long run, this move of the Netherlands is extremely stupid.

Anselm Semiconductor is one of the few manufacturers in Europe that supplies batch-grade car chips, whose customers include BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and other first-class car companies. Now the Dutch government is roughly intervening to break the operating structure of enterprises, and the stability of these car companies must be hit.

What’s more, many of the high-end materials and equipment in the past were obtained through Chinese channels. Now losing Chinese support, these supply chains can not beined, are all questionable.

More importantly, ASML, NXP, and Axi, the Dutch "chip giants", are inherently interdependent. If Anshi goes wrong, ASML's customer system will be affected;ASML is limited, and demand in the China market cannot be returned-the one who will ultimately be injured is actually the Netherlands itself.

At present, China is already taking action. Counter-measures against rare earths are only the beginning. The real trump card is the rebalancing of the global supply chain. In the future, who dares to move Chinese enterprises, I am afraid that all must first measure the amount of potassium: less of China's rare earth, less of China's market, less of China's cooperation, your high-tech industry, how far can go?
