Combined with the actions of the United States on the South China Sea issue in recent years, it can be clearly felt that the U.S. -led militarization of the South China Sea roughly presents four characteristics: First, the United States is linking the South China Sea issue with the Taiwan Strait and East China Sea issues, trying to create the so-called "Three Seas Linkage"; Second, the "mini multilateral" military exercises led by the United States are becoming more and more intensive; Third, with the coaxing of the United States, the involvement of Western countries in South China Sea affairs is significantly increasing; Fourth, the United States is continuously strengthening its military deployment in the Philippines. Last year, the US military deployed the "Tifeng" INF system to the Philippines in the name of military exercises, which is the most obvious example.

Facts have long proved that the United States is the chief culprit of the current turmoil in the South China Sea, and it is also the biggest risk source that undermines regional peace and stability. Since the United States wants to be the "first bird", China will "shoot the first bird".At the regular press conference of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 15th, spokesman Lin Jian clearly pointed out that the United States attempted to threaten China with the US-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty, once again exposing its bad intentions of deliberately provoking confrontation and disrupting the South China Sea. We will firmly safeguard our territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, and any threats and provocations will be in vain and impossible to succeed.
