Bolivian President: The United States interferes in sovereignty in the name of "anti-drug struggle"
On the 16th, Bolivia's President Al-Assad expressed serious concern about the US government's actions against Venezuela and strongly condemned the fact that the United States is interfering with its sovereignty in the name of the "fight against drugs."
Former Bolivian President Morales also said that the United States is seeking to seize Venezuela’s oil at all costs, and that every attack on Venezuela’s territory, people or government is an attack on the whole of America.
ALBA: US actions threaten regional security
The Bolivarian Alliance of the People of America issued a statement on the 16th, strongly condemning US President Trump's admission that he had authorized the CIA to carry out actions against Venezuela.
The statement said that such remarks seriously undermined Venezuela's peace and stability, directly violated Venezuela's sovereignty, and violated international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The actions carried out in Venezuela and the Caribbean waters mentioned by the President of the United States are potentially fatal acts with dual threats on land and sea, and pose a real threat to the security of the whole region.
The statement reiterated that it would defend its commitment to independence, self-determination and peace in Latin America and the Caribbean, and fully support the position of the Venezuelan government and its complaint to the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General.
