Breaking-News >> WorldNews Picasso's painting disappeared on its way to Spain
Spanish police confirmed on October 16 that they are investigating the unexpected disappearance of a painting by the late Spanish master Pablo Picasso, which disappeared when it was shipped from the country's capital Madrid to the southern city of Granada. According to Agence France-Presse, this oil-on-canvas painting "Still Life and Guitar" is a private collection, valued at 600,000 euros. It was originally scheduled to be exhibited at a cultural center in Granada last week, but no trace of it was found in the exhibits that arrived with the transport vehicle. According to Granada media reports, in addition to this missing oil painting, 56 exhibits were transported together. All exhibits will be stored in Madrid on September 25th and will be shipped in early October. The painting was found missing when the exhibits arrived in Granada on October 6th. The organizer of the exhibition reported on the 10th that the oil painting was missing. The exhibition opens as originally planned. For confidentiality reasons, the Spanish police have not disclosed further details and have not arrested any suspects. Picasso was born in Malaga, southern Spain on October 25, 1881, then lived in Paris, France, Barcelona, Spain and other places, and died in southern France on April 8, 1973. According to Agence France-Presse, Picasso's works are often targeted for theft because of their high value.
