On the afternoon of October 16, local time, China's permanent delegation to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization officially hanged.

The People's Republic of China resumed its legal seat in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in April 1973. In 1982, it officially established a permanent representative office to the Food and Agriculture Agency of the United Nations, and was adjusted to an ambassadorial diplomatic mission in 2020. In August 2025, the Permanent Representative Office to the Food and Agriculture Agency of the United Nations was officially upgraded to a Permanent Mission to the Food and Agriculture Agency of the United Nations.

The FAO includes the FAO, the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, all three of which are headquartered in Rome, Italy.
