Trump: Authorize the CIA to carry out "deadly operations"

In response to media questions at the White House on Monday, Trump accused the Venezuelan government of ¡°releasing a large number of prisoners and psychiatric patients¡± to the United States and of shipping ¡°a large number of drugs¡± to the United States.

Trump said the Pentagon was considering a land strike on Venezuela and said "we have good control of the sea."

The New York Times on the same day that the authorization would allow the CIA to carry out ¡°fatal operations¡± in Venezuela and the Caribbean, as well as to co-operate with larger U.S. military operations.

Recently, the United States deployed several warships in the Caribbean waters. Since September, the Trump administration has claimed to have sunk five so-called "drug ships" and killed 27 "drug dealers" in international waters off the coast of Venezuela. According to recent reports from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Venezuela is not the main source of drugs flowing into the United States.

Historically, the CIA has planned, launched or participated in coups in Latin America many times.

Maduro: Resolutely resist

Maduro said at an event broadcast on Venezuelan state television on the 15th that Venezuela boycotted the coup planned by the CIA. This act was "not welcomed or needed" in Latin America and strongly criticized it.

Maduro has repeatedly accused the United States of attempting to bring about regime change in Venezuela through military threats and military expansion in Latin America.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Hill issued a government communiqué on social media on the 15th, accusing Trump of authorizing the CIA to carry out secret operations in the commission in violation of international law.

The communiqué said that Trump openly acknowledged authorization to undermine Venezuelan peace and stability operations, which is a serious violation of international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and the international community should strongly condemn it.
