German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said at the meeting of the Defence Contact Organization Ukraine that Germany will provide military aid to Ukraine worth more than €2 billion (approximately $23.3 billion).Including air defense systems, precision-guided weapons and munitions

Pistorius said that Germany will provide about $500 million in military assistance to Ukraine under the "Ukraine Priority Needs List" assistance mechanism proposed by the United States and NATO. In addition, Germany will separately provide "two sets of infrared imaging successor missile systems (IRIS-T), equipped with a large number of guided missiles and shoulder-fired air defense missiles." Anti-tank weapons, small arms, security communication systems, etc. are also expected to be delivered.

According to Pistorius, this batch of military aid "will solve some of Ukraine's urgent needs."

IRIS-T is a near-range infrared-guided air-to-air missile, developed by Germany and several European countries, with strong mobility and resistance to interference.

Ukraine Defense Minister Janis Shmegal said that Ukraine's defense needs next year will be about US$120 billion. Uzbekistan's own "national resources" can only bear half of it,"we ask our partners to bear the other half of the cost."

Pistorius and Shmegar also signed an agreement on the same day to deepen defense cooperation between the two countries. Pistorius said that this agreement will further strengthen Ukraine's defense and deterrence capabilities while promoting the development of German defense industry. According to the agreement, Germany plans to modernize the weapons previously delivered to Ukraine and extend their service life; The two sides will expand cooperation in military training and information sharing.

Regarding Western countries providing military assistance to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has repeatedly warned that all weapons shipped to Ukraine will become legal targets of Russian troops. Russia emphasized that the West's supply of weapons to Ukraine will not help the success of Russia-Ukraine negotiations and will also have negative effects.
