On the 14th of this month, South Korean President Lee Jae-ming presided over a State Council and approved the personnel appointment of Roh Jae-hyun. Roh Jae-hyun later said that on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and China, he would further promote the development of South Korea and China relations and deepen the good-neighborly friendship between the two countries.

Lu, 60 years old, graduated from the University of Seoul, South Korea, and received a Master of Political Science from Stanford University in the United States and a PhD in Law from Georgetown University in the United States. He served as Chairman of the Social and Cultural Branch of the Committee on Future Development of China Relations (2021), and contributed to promoting China-Korea exchanges. In August this year, he visited China as a member of the President's Special Mission to Xi Jinping.
