Ambition emerges! Four countries guarantee a ceasefire in Gaza, but Trump wants to "dominate" the Peace Council?

The Middle East has never lacked games and variables! Recently, a summit in Gaza and a ceasefire agreement have made this place uncomfortable. On the surface, this is an opportunity to breathe a breath for Gaza, but when you blow up the smoke and deep into it, you will find it more like a play code without the protagonist, a suspicious "peace talks", left to people, is more questionable than peace itself.

At the summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, leaders of more than 20 countries gathered together, and the lineup can be described as strong. The most eye-catching achievement of the summit was the ceasefire document jointly guaranteed by Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey. These four countries with great weight in the Middle East have joined forces to "endorse" the ceasefire agreement, which does sound like four insurances for war-torn Gaza.

The guarantee is said to have originated from the first-phase agreement reached between Hamas and Israel: Hamas released hostages, Israel withdrew its troops, and opened humanitarian aid channels. At first glance, both sides in the conflict took a step back, seeming to see the dawn of solving the problem. Some even said that this was the first successful case of Trump's "20-point plan" being implemented.

However, this illusion of peace could not withstand scrutiny from the beginning.

Imagine, a family dispute, family and friends are present, bitterly persuaded, but the couple of parties to the dispute, one for the sake of not coming, the other simply does not appear.

The Sharm el-Sheikh summit is like this: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu temporarily canceled his trip on the grounds of Jewish holidays. Hamas, as another major party, was directly absent. Without the participation of the core figures, isn't this agreement guaranteed by the four countries inherently deficient?

What is more worrying is that the ceasefire agreement does not mention the timetable for the full withdrawal of Israeli troops. What does this mean? This means that Israel can find an excuse at any time to resume the war. Experts have pointed out that Netanyahu’s government is likely to attack Gaza again after all hostages are released.

So, this so-called ceasefire is more like a “war break” than a real peace, it may just be a breathtaking opportunity for Israel’s next round of military action, rather than bringing real peace to Gaza.

In addition to the fragility of the ceasefire, the battle for the future "main regime" in Gaza is a deeper undercurrent. In his "20-point plan", Trump has long drawn a clear "red line" for Gaza's future: Palestinian organizations such as Hamas are not allowed to participate in the governance of Gaza. He envisions a "technocratic body" led by him to take over Gaza.

At the Sham Sheikh summit, Trump further revealed that the leaders of some countries have already expressed their desire to join this “Peace Council.” However, Trump is deeply upset about how this agency will function and how to protect the rights of the Palestinian people.

At the summit, Egyptian President Sisi repeatedly stressed that the “two-state plan” is the only way to resolve the Israeli conflict, and that the Palestinian people should have the right to self-determination and to decide their own destiny like other nations.

When a reporter asked him if he supported the establishment of a Palestinian state, Trump only came up with a vague "look first at reconstruction, then discuss the plan".

This attitude directly led to the final document signed by the summit, which was full of vague words such as "hope" and "peace", and made no mention of the "two-state plan" generally recognized by the international community. This makes people wonder whether the so-called "Peace Council" is working for the well-being of Gaza or serving the strategic layout of some major powers in the Middle East?

However, for ordinary people, the people's livelihood issues that are most concerned about have also become "unsolved cases" at this summit. Nearly two million people in Gaza have been displaced and their homes destroyed, and reconstruction requires astronomical amounts of money. However, all parties did not reach a consensus on issues such as where the money came from and how to allocate it.

While humanitarian aid canals have been opened, for Gaza, which is full of acne, the material is nothing more than a cup of water car pay. What is even more shocking is that if the ceasefire agreement is finally broken, the war is likely to spread rapidly to Lebanon, Syria, and even the Red Sea region, the stability of the entire Middle East will be severely challenged.

In the final analysis, this summit and the so-called "Trump Plan" both have the shadow of power politics in their bones. The United States is trying to consolidate its hegemony in the Middle East by leading the governance of Gaza and promoting the normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel, while also ensuring Israel's absolute superiority.

But peace is never a game in which a handful of great powers can shut the sky.If Hamas, the organization with widespread influence in Gaza, is excluded and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination is ignored, then the perfect “government plan” can only be an airplane, destined to not last long.

The peace in Gaza is not in that four-state agreement, nor in the Trump-led “peace council.”The real peace lies in the realisation of the “two-state plan” and in the real security and well-being of the Palestinian and Israeli people.

The current ceasefire may temporarily silence the sound of gunfire, but it will only address the symptoms rather than the root cause. If the "light at the end of the tunnel" truly illuminates Gaza, the international community needs to put aside its selfish interests and allow the real parties to sit at the negotiating table to build that indestructible cornerstone of peace with justice, respect and understanding. Otherwise,"peace" in Gaza will always be an illusion drawn on paper.
