Islami, chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said on the 15th that the cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency must comply with Iranian law. Since the agency has not fulfilled its obligations under relevant Iranian laws, the cooperation between the two sides cannot be carried out.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran, islami told reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting held in Tehran on the same day that Iran had previously asked the International Atomic Energy Agency to condemn the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in June this year according to law, and issued a statement promising to ensure the security of Iran's sensitive nuclear data, but the International Atomic Energy Agency did not implement the above actions, so the cooperation between the two sides could not be carried out.
Islamami said that the IAEA's current verification work in Iran is no longer conducted as usual, the verification department of the Bush and Tehran nuclear facilities is coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and approved by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, and IAEA's verificators have completed the inspection and left Iran.
Iran's nuclear facilities under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency were attacked by the US military on June 22nd, and the Iranian parliament approved a bill on the 25th of the same month to suspend Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. The bill prohibits IAEA observers from entering Iran for verification, unless the safety of Iran's nuclear facilities and Iran's right to peaceful use of nuclear energy can be guaranteed, and it needs to be approved by Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
