Colombian President Requests Security Council and UN General Assembly to Consider U.S. Military Operation in the Caribbean

On the 15th local time, Colombian President Petro said on social media that Colombia's anti-drug policy must respect human rights, which has been approved by the United Nations Human Rights Commission, but recently 27 Latin Americans were killed in the United States' crackdown on drug trafficking in the Caribbean. He condemned the United States for failing to comply with the resolutions of the United Nations Human Rights Commission and demanded that the case be referred to the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly for consideration.

Petro also previously asked the United States to provide a list and information of those killed.

US President Trump posted on social media on the 14th that the US military sank a "drug trafficking ship" again in the international waters of the Caribbean Sea near the coast of Venezuela that day, killing six people on board. This is the fifth time since September that the Trump administration has announced military action against "drug ships" in international waters off Venezuela. So far, it has claimed to have destroyed five so-called "drug ships" and killed 27 "drug dealers". (Headquarters reporter Deng Xuemei)
