Israeli officials say Rafah Border Crossing will not open on the 15th

A reporter learned that on October 15 local time, according to an Israeli security official, the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt would not be open that day. "Preparations are currently under way to open the crossing to only Gazans," the official said.

The official also said that after security checks by Israeli authorities, humanitarian aid will continue to enter Gaza as usual through Kerem Shalom and other ports.

Earlier that day, according to Israeli public broadcasters and the Jerusalem Post, Israel made a decision to open the Rafah port after the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) handed over the bodies of four Israeli detainees on the 14th.

The Rafah crossing is located in the southern Gaza Strip, bordering Egypt, and is the main channel for international humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip. After the crossing reopens, 600 rescue trucks will enter the Gaza Strip.

A spokesman for the Israeli Defense Army said that the first phase of the ceasefire agreement had entered into force at 12 p.m. (Beijing time) on the 10th, it was that the ceasefire agreement stipulated that the port of Rafah would be open within 72 hours after the ceasefire came into effect. However, according to several Israeli media reports, the government said that given that Hamas failed to hand over the bodies of all detainees on time, it decided to suspend the reopening of the port of Rafah as a countermeasure.
