Trump warns Hamas must disarm: otherwise it could be used in a "violent manner"

[Global Network Reporter Zhang Jiangping] According to media reports such as Al Jazeera in Qatar, US President Trump warned on the 14th that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) must be disarmed, otherwise it will be forcibly or even violently disarmed.

Trump said of Hamas at the White House that day,"If they refuse to disarm, we will take action to disarm them. And this will happen quickly and possibly even violently." Trump also said that the United States had informed Hamas of the matter and Hamas had agreed to disarm.

As of press time, no formal response from Hamas to Trump's statement has been seen.

Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. Trump said on Monday that the “war is over” in the Gaza Strip. However, according to Reuters and other media reports, the Israeli Defense Army posted on social media on 14th that in Gaza, several “suspicious persons” were found to cross the ceasefire line and approach the Israeli military forces. After trying to disperse these “suspicious persons” was unsuccessful, the Israeli army opened fire to “eliminate the threat”. Hamas criticized the Israeli army for violating the ceasefire agreement and called on all sides to monitor Israeli actions and not allow it to evade the promises made by the mediators.
