On October 14, 2025, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations held the 2025 Awards Dinner in New York. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng was invited to attend and deliver a speech.

Xie Feng said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, Sino-US relations finally cooled down and stabilized in the previous stage, but recent storms have arisen again. How to reassure the people of the two countries and the international community: First, the tariff war and trade war cannot be won, and there will be no winner. Second, we must unswervingly adhere to the general direction of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation. Third, we should take action and gather the majestic power of all walks of life to promote Sino-US exchanges and cooperation.

Xi Jinping stressed that the tariff trade war will only be defeated and wounded. China is not willing to fight, but will never sit and watch its own rights and interests be damaged, international economic and trade rules and the multilateral trade system are destroyed. The United States should return to reason, on the basis of mutual respect, equal consultation, through dialogue to solve their concerns, do not go the old way of escalating economic and trade tensions. Taiwan issue is the most subversive issue for China-US relations, the United States should stop distorting the resolution of the UN General Assembly No. 2758, stop spreading the "Taiwan status is undefined" illusion, do not send any wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" forces.

Xie Feng encouraged the National Committee on U.S. -China Relations and people from all walks of life to work together to build on the past, grasp the right direction, eliminate difficulties and interference, and promote the steady and long-term development of Sino-US relations along the right track of stable, healthy and sustainable development.

Approximately 400 people, including Barchevsky, Chairman of the Board of the National Committee on US-China Relations, Executive Vice-Chairman Greenberg, Chairman Orens, and Abel, Chairman of Pfizer, attended the dinner, and Abel was awarded by the National Committee on US-China Relations.
