According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the two sides will focus on the regional situation and the ways of cooperation between Syria and Russia.
Reuters quoted a Syrian source as saying that Shala would discuss with Putin the survival of the Russian naval base in Tartus and the air base in Khmeimim in western Syria.
The source added that Sharapova will also formally ask Russia to extradite former Syrian President Assad.
