On October 14, local time, U.S. President Trump presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the previously shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The White House announced that Trump signed an announcement to designate that day (October 14, 2025) as "Charlie Kirk National Memorial Day".

Kirk is a co-founder of the U.S. conservative non-profit organization “America’s Turning Point” and a political ally of Trump. Kirk was shot dead on September 10 during a speech at Utah Valley University in Utah, Utah.
