According to the New York Post, a shocking video showed Hamas carrying out mass public executions in Gaza on Monday, just hours after signing a peace agreement with Israel.
The video shows eight blindfolded and severely beaten men kneeling on the street and being shot by Hamas gunmen in front of a cheering crowd. According to the BBC, Hamas did not provide evidence, saying that the execution targets were "criminals and Israeli collaborators." According to Israeli outlet Ynet News, the victims included Ahmed Zidan Tarabin, who allegedly recruited operatives for militias not allied with Hamas.
After the Israeli withdrawal, Hamas quickly regained control of Gaza, liquidated armed family groups that emerged from the conflict, and even began retaliation before a peace deal.
On Sunday, 52 members of the Dagmush clan were reportedly killed in clashes with Hamas security forces, and 12 Hamas people died, including the son of senior official Basim Naim. Hamas militants are accused of raiding the clan's community with ambulances, saying they were cooperating with Israel. The daughter of a clan member cried to Ynet News: "This is a massacre! They dragged away, the children died screaming, and burned down our house. What did we do wrong?"
Earlier on Monday, Trump said he approved Hamas to manage internal security in Gaza “in the way it thinks appropriate” in exchange for the return of the remaining hostages. He told reporters on Air Force One: “Hamas wants to solve these issues and we agreed to have them temporarily managed. Nearly two million people in Gaza have returned to the ruins and security is in great danger. We hope the situation is stable and I think it will be okay, who knows?”
Under Trump’s peace plan, Hamas should disarm and transfer control over Gaza, but the group explicitly refused.
