Hamas returns to the streets of Gaza, comprehensively strengthen control efforts, people say the sense of security has recovered

Following the gradual evacuation of Israeli troops from northern Gaza, Hamas security forces are rapidly taking over local security and restoring street order. At present, the peace plan for Gaza, promoted by US President Trump, is gaining international support, and its core content requires Hamas to fully disarm in the future and not to participate in the post-war governance of Gaza.

Street control

According to the French news agency, Reuters confirmed that on Monday, October 13 local time, when several buses carrying prisoners released from Israeli prisons arrived in Gaza, Hamas “Kassan Brigade” armed personnel on the sceneined order and avoided chaos.

On Sunday, 14 October, Hamas’ black-masked armed police in the northern Gaza region also resumed street patrols to ensure basic public safety.

In addition to conventional security maintenance, Hamas's recently established "dissuasion forces" are carrying out special operations against armed ethnic groups and gang forces in Gaza, some of which are suspected of being supported by Israel.

Witnesses said heated clashes broke out in the eastern Shujaya region of Gaza early Tuesday morning, with Hamas security forces fighting for hours with local members of the Hiller family, eventually arresting some members of the family.

Local resident Mohammed (who did not disclose his full name for fear of retaliation) told AFP: "We heard intensive gunfire and explosions, but we support such actions, which can make the community safer."

Palestinian security sources in Gaza confirmed to Reuters: "The core mission of the deterrent force is to ensure regional security and stability through continued field operations. Any lawless element who threatens the safety of citizens has no place in Gaza."

For example, in central Delhi, 34-year-old Abu Fadi Benar said: “After the end of the war, police returned to the streets and we finally got a sense of safety, traffic was evacuated, markets were cleaned and the thieves were no longer afraid.”

Hamdiya Shamiya, a 40-year-old resident who fled from the north to Khan Unis refuge in the south, said: “The end of the war relieved us and now we can feel that order and security are slowly recovering.”

Israeli ceasefire again.

While Hamas is advancing control, Israel and Palestine have differences on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire by shooting near the "Yellow Line" in Gaza. The "Yellow Line" is currently one of the actual boundaries controlled by the Israeli army in Gaza. The area behind the line is still controlled by the Israeli army, accounting for about half of the total area of Gaza.

The Israeli military responded that firing was only aimed at unidentified Palestinians near the yellow line and that action was only taken after repeated warnings were invalid.

In a statement, the Israeli military said: “We first try to evacuate the suspect, but the other side refuses to cooperate and continues to approach the troops to shoot to eliminate the threat.”

The Israeli military also confirmed on Tuesday (October 14) that the identities of the bodies of four deceased hostages handed over on Monday had been verified, including Israeli citizen Guy Iluz and Nepal agriculture student Bipin Joshi. The identities of the other two bodies have not been announced yet due to the request of their families.

Israel said Hamas still held the bodies of 24 dead hostages, demanding that they be returned in accordance with the agreement.

Israel’s Hostage and Disappeared Family Forum said in a statement: “The return of Gay and Bipin brings a consolation to the families who have suffered for two years, but we will not stop until the 24 missing hostages are all home.”

International Peace Plan

On Monday, October 13th, outside the regional situation, an international summit hosted by US President Trump adopted a 20-point peace plan in Egypt, which was signed and confirmed by many countries.

The plan, which contains 20 items, states that members of Hamas willing to destroy weapons can be granted amnesty, that Gaza will be demilitarized, and that Hamas will not participate in the future leadership of Gaza.

Trump mentioned when signing the statement: "Regarding a future solution between Israel and Palestine, some people prefer a one-state solution, while others support a two-state solution. We need to depend on the situation, but any decision will be closely coordinated with other countries."
