Israeli army says it killed five "suspects" who crossed the ceasefire line in Gaza City

The Israeli Defence Forces issued a statement on October 14 that the Israeli army killed five “suspects” who crossed the ceasefire line in eastern Gaza City that morning, trying to approach the Israeli forces deployed in the region.

The statement said that after attempting to disperse these "suspects" failed, the Israeli army opened fire to "eliminate the threat". The statement denied that the "suspect" had broken into the Israeli military camp in the area.

The statement said the Israel Defense Forces asked Gaza residents to follow instructions and not approach Israeli troops deployed in the area.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that the Israeli army "is still stationed in the Gaza Strip and controls all critical areas" in order to put pressure on Hamas to prepare for the subsequent phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
