In order to counter the 301 investigation measures taken by the United States against China in the maritime, logistics and shipbuilding industries, and with the approval of the National Anti-Foreign Sanctions Coordination Mechanism, the "Decision on Taking Countermeasures against Five U.S. Related Subsidiaries of Hanwha Marine Co., Ltd." is hereby announced, effective from October 14, 2025.

Decision to take countermeasures

The United States carried out 301 investigations and measures on China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding industry, seriously violating the basic norms of international law and international relations, seriously damaging the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

According to Articles 3, 4, 6, 9, 10 and 15 of the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, Articles 3, 5, 8 and 10 of the Regulations on the Implementation of the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, and with the approval of the National Anti-Foreign Sanctions Coordination Mechanism, the Chinese side decided to transfer five related subsidiaries of Hanwha Ocean Co., Ltd. in the United States Hanwha Shipping LLC, Hanwha Philly Shipyard Inc., Hanwha Ocean USA International LLC, Hanwha Shipping Holdings LLC, and HS USA Holdings Corp. Include it in the counter-measures list, and take the following counter-measures: Organizations and individuals in China are prohibited from conducting relevant transactions, cooperation and other activities with it.
