The survey results show that Russians mostly go to China for traveling, shopping, experiencing China's innovation and receiving medical services. The most popular Chinese cities among Russians are Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, etc. The most popular Chinese attractions for Russian tourists include the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City. When answering why they intend to travel to China, 58% of the respondents said that Chinese history and culture are attractive, and 41% of the respondents said that they should fully enjoy the convenience of visa-free policy.

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiangkun announced on September 2 that from September 15, 2025 to September 14, 2026, China will have a visa-free trial policy for Russian passengers holding ordinary passports.
