On Monday, the new parliament of Nauru elected David Adeang as President of Nauru.

David Adion was born in Nauru in November 1969 and earned a bachelor¡¯s degree in economics, diplomacy and trade. He was elected to the Nauru Parliament in 2001, serving as Minister of Finance, Minister of Justice, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Home Affairs, etc. He was elected the 17th President of Nauru in October 2023.
