On the evening of 13 local time, the Egyptian presidential palace issued a statement after the closing of the Sham Sheikh Peace Summit.

In the framework of ending the war in Gaza, political settlement of the Palestinian issue, consolidation of the Middle East peace process, and based on the initiative of Egypt and the United States, Egypt held the ¡°Peace Summit¡± in Sham Sheikh on the 13th. The summit was co-chaired by President Sisi of Egypt and President Trump of the United States. The summit was attended by the heads of state and government of Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Turkey, Indonesia, France, Cyprus, Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain, Greece, Pakistan, Canada, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Japan and India.

The focus of the summit is on clear support for a ceasefire agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza. The agreement was reached on October 9, 2025 with the mediation of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey. The summit emphasized the importance of cooperation among all parties for the international community to follow up on the implementation of the terms of the agreement and maintain the continuity of the agreement, including the full implementation of the exchange of hostages and detainees, Israeli withdrawal and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

At the summit, the leaders of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed the Comprehensive Document of the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement.

Egypt will continue to support Palestine and its legitimate and inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, and implement the ¡°Two-State Plan¡±, which is to establish an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital and enjoying full sovereignty. Based on this, Egypt is eager to peace and will work with all parties to build a Middle East without conflict, a Middle East based on justice, equality, good-neighbourly and friendly relations, and the peaceful coexistence of peoples of all nations.
