According to reports, after seven days of searching, the search and rescue operation for two China tourists who have disappeared in the waters near Kota Bedermantanani Island since October 5 was officially terminated today due to lack of clues. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Authority (MMEA) said it would continue to conduct routine patrols in the area.
It is understood that the missing tourists were identified as 25-year-old Chinese in the city of Shaping (man) and 28-year-old Fang Zhen (woman),ly for the last time they were diving near the resort before they disappeared.
The search and rescue work involved 95 people from multiple agencies, including the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), MMEA, the Department of Fire and Rescue (JBPM), water police, drone forces, civil defense forces, and was supported by local villagers and resort operators.
Although no traces of the missing persons have been found, authorities said they will continue regular maritime patrols until new clues appear.
