Trains crash in Slovakia, about 100 injured

Xinhua Agency, Bratislava, October 13 (Reporter Meng Fanyu and Yu Tao) A collision between two trains occurred in eastern Slovakia on the 13th, injuring about 100 people, two of whom were seriously injured.

The Slovak news agency quoted a spokesman for the local fire department as saying the accident occurred at a rail intersection near a village in the eastern region of Kochić.

Slovakia Interior Minister Eshtok said at a press conference that day that the two injured were in serious condition and three others were still trapped. The likely cause of the accident was that one of the trains did not give way to the other train.
