British media: The United States assists Ukraine in attacking Russian energy facilities

The Financial Times on Monday that:For months, the United States has been assisting Ukraine in long-range strikes against Russian energy facilities

The media quoted several U.S. and Ukrainian officials familiar with the operation as reporting that the U.S. shared intelligence with Ukraine, which enabled Ukraine to strike off “far from the front” important Russian energy facilities, including several oil refineries. According to these officials, the U.S. was “strictly involved in the entire process of action planning”, such as determining flight routes, flight heights, strike times, etc., allowing Ukraine’s long-range single-range attack drones to break through the Russian air defense system.

On the 1st of this month, several media reported that the U.S. government had agreed to provide intelligence to Ukraine by the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence agencies to support Ukraine in launching long-range strikes on energy facilities in Russia. The Russian side responded on the 2nd that the United States has long begun to provide intelligence to Ukraine on a regular basis. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov said on the same day that NATO and the United States used all infrastructure to collect and provide intelligence to Ukraine.

U.S. President Donald Trump promised to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict soon during his campaign last year, but no substantial progress has been made in this matter since he took office in January.
